Paper Pattern Pounce Perforator (P4):
These machines are made for a pin-striper or sign painter to punch holes in paper for patterns to transfer images to final surface for pin-striping or air brushing. The machine uses high voltage to burn arcs through the paper following the penciled lines that you create. The holes in the paper are used to transfer charcoal or airbrush through to final item for finishing. Once the pattern transfer is on the car or sign, you have a small pattern to follow. This machine is a high voltage device and can shock. Exercise extreme caution when using this device. The back of the paper receiving the pattern must have a conductive metal plate grounded to the machine (ground wire included). A variable control can adjust the amplitude of the arcs to control smaller / larger holes in the paper. The variable control can also be used to increase the power to burn through multiple sheets of paper for copies or for making book-fold pinstripe images. These machines have a replaceable stainless steel tip (though, you'll probably never need it, they last almost forever).
MADE IN USA!
These come with a 12 month warranty against defects in material / workmanship.
Return shipping not included.
This machine creates high voltage electricity, Do not use if you have a pacemaker.
Back Plate: The back plate is best if it is larger than the paper pattern being produced. Connect the ground clip to the back plate and insure the connection is solid. The back plate can be thin sheet metal from farm supply / home supply retailers.
Design: The design you plan to create for pouncing can be printed on a large printer or just drawn with a pencil. Best practice is to have the design on the paper prior to beginning the pounce process. Pouncing the major components (outlines) for an image is all that is necessary to get the major scale onto the item to be painted after using the pounce pattern with charcoal or chalk to transfer.
Tools: The tools you use to “draw” the pounce pattern with the HV tip CANNOT be conductive (Metal ruler). This will conduct the HV directly to you if you are holding the ruler.
Pounce Drawing: When the power is on and you plan to start perforating the paper pattern: Move the HV probe to the paper and touch the paper as quickly as possible. If you approach the paper slowly, it will arc and create a larger hole and possibly start the paper burning. This is NOT going to leave the holes you prefer. Once its on the paper, slowly trace your design that was already drawn. Practice will teach you the best speed to follow for the best perforations for YOU!!
